I have Yellow Bellied turtles (2) and people online say you should get cuttle bone so they can chew on. Im not enitirley sure what that is. Is in in fish or snails or shrimp? Is it a block they chew on like birds? Can u help?

Cuttlebone is natural calcium.
You can get it at your local petstore in the bird section
Any petstore has this. Yeah I think its kinda like what you give a bird, its like this white chalky feeling stony thingy??? I don’t really know what the heck it is or comes from but know it at Petsmart, & I think its pretty cheap.
Cuttle bone is bone from a fish named cuttle bone fish.
Use the actual cuttle bone sold at most all pet store’s & fish stores, not the block type made by man.
Cuttle bone provids Calcium in it’s natural form.
You migh do a goggle.com or yahoo.com search for best prices for larger number’s of cuttle bone.
A Cuttlebone is composed calcium carbonate. They are used as a calcium-rich dietary supplement for birds and turtles. You can find them in the bird section of your local petstore. But most turtles don`t seem to use there cuttlebone.
cuttle bone is actually the inner bone of a cuttle fish it is a natural source of calcium used for reptiles and birds, you can get them at most pet suppliers, it can be grated over food or placed in the tank with the turtles to chew at will here is site to explain what it is , the good thing is they are not expensive to buy and usually you can pick them up cheaper than calcium supplements, but they are good for your turtle i usually have one in the enclosure of my tortoises and they enjoy chewing on it hope this helps best of luck.
Cuttlebone is the support for the cuttlefish, an animal similar to squids and octopusses. It is sold for birds to peck at. If you can’t find the cuttlebone, a piece of plaster will be just as good. Alternatively, you could feed earthworms as a source of calcium or dust your turtles’ food with bonemeal.
