I have 2 baby turtles. I have the cage thing, 5 lbs of rocks that came with it, and water. Do they like or need to have anything else in there?

oh yeah alot more. you need a floating base for them to bask under a heat lamp on! and you need to buy dr.turtle calcium disolving tablets ever one for every ten gallons and add a new one everytime you clean the tank. you will also need a filter and a heater. so a heat lamp, baskin place, dr.turtle, heater, filter.

when you say “cage thing” is that the turtle lagoon (death lagoon) or the “critter keeper”? If so,that is not an appropriate habitat for turtles. Also these”rocks” are gravel? throw it out! they will eat it and it can do SERIOUS harm.

    the BASICS for keeping turtles:

*Tank– 10 gallons for every inch of shell (and if these are red earsliders their adult sizes are 9-12 inches)
*basking platform–they MUST be able to get out of the water and dry off completely
    *Lights–heat &UVB lighting
*water heater—75-78 for RES and many other species.
    *filter-canisters are considered the standard

PS—I wouldn’t be bothered with the “dr turtle” blocks…they just eat the thing and get diarrhea. Use Reptisafe to treat the water.
