What are some very clever ways to catch turtles?

I have two painted turtles in my mini lake, they got loose because of my neighbors kids, the turtle belong to them. How do I get them out?

    u will have to trap them

    swim after them, but what you should really do is get a large net setup where they like to soak up the sun most and hide for a while (now this depends on how badly you want them) you have to wait a very long time and be as still or as camouflaged as you can, so start when the sun first comes up, setup the trap at night of course. okay now you wait for about 5 hours and between that time they should be at their spot then pull the net in and there they should be.
