What are my baby cooter turtles doing?

turtles
Pink Laydee asked:

I have 2 6mth old turtles and i’ve never seen them do this before. They keep facing each other putting their faces really close together hold their front legs up at the side of their faces and vibrate them whilst touchin nose to nose. Its really strange, what are they doing?
Kelly – tht you tube vid is exactly what they were doing! Ha. Cn they tell what *** each other are?

They are probably showing affection towards each other but if they are the same *** they are showing rivalry towards each other.
p.s. So you might expect more bab turtles as they grow up together or more fights either way

My baby turtles do this. It’s just a sign of aggression. Don’t worry.

People often mistaken this for a “mating” dance. HAHA babies don’t mate…

And that is a good question… I don’t think they know what *** the other one is… it’s hard-enough for humans to tell when they are still babies. =P When they’re older, they will definitely know though. That’s when it really counts anyways… when they’re older. =)
