I owned 2 red ear sliders and they were pretty easy to take care of as they don’t require tons of attention and don’t mind just chilling under the lamp all day.

I purchased them for $8 a piece (they were so cheap because I went to a hole in the wall pet shop and they were the size of a half-dollar).

Um, as for equipment? You’ll need an aquarium, I recommend anything between a 20 to 40 gallon tank. My turtles went from the half-dollar size to about 9 inches long and 7 wide within the year that I had them. Also a bridge or high rock that they can sit on to dry off and soak up the lights from the UV lamp you’ll need to get. The rays from the lamp act like the sun and strengthen the shell and give it nutrients and stuff like that.

Um, I’m doing a poor job at describing this so just look around at a couple websites, do some research.

    Sorry!
