Don’t know about the shedding because mine never did, but I would advise dropping a little more food in their, If you read turtle food it usually says drop 20-30 pellets, leave them their for 20 minutes then remove uneaten, this will give you a guide on how much he wants to eat, remember they are wild animals and in the wild they eat until “they” are full not what someone gives them. Mine ate alot more than 6 pellets a day, but I had a Red ear slider.

Turtles shed their skin (scutes) to grow. The top layer of their scutes dry and seperate from the rest of the turtle like potato-chip size fingernails. If your turtle is growing so quickly for you, then you must be doing something right. Good Job!

i have a red eared slider turtle and he sheds his shell every time he grows.
when i feed him i give him about 7 pellets for breakfeast and dinner. but i guess depending on what turtle you have and what size he is on how much to feed him.
like mine is almost fully grown though.
