turtles?

my friends have a turtle in thier backyard and they have turtles in it. i was thinking about asking for one or two because they wouldnt mind…….so what would i put them in, feed them with put in the cage or whatever imn going to be keeping them in. anybody know?? thanks!!!

You need to keep them in an aquarium, like you would fish but make sure it is on the larger side. They need a bowl of water and they sell turtle food and snacks in pet stores. Good luck!!!

get a tank and fill it a little bit with water and add some rocks big enough for it to sit on

You need a large tank, depending on what tyupe it is you may need to add some water. I got one from a swamp near my house and he took to regular petstore food well… Its called reptomin. Also it is a good idea to put a flat rock for them to get out of the water (supposing it needs a water)

put it in a big fishtank with a filter and it needs a fluorescent [uva/uvb] and a basking light on top of their dry rock. you can put fake plants in and rocks on the bottom.

Considering they have them in the back yard i just wanted to ask, are they tortoises? or are they wild turtles in the back yard?

Also we wouldnt know how to tell you some ideas because we dont know wat type of turtle is it.

Most turtles who were hatched and spent most of their young lives outside..if you brought him inside and put him in an aquarium his health would likely suffer….
So first….what kind of turtle are they…is it a tortoise or a turtle…water or land?..if you let me know i can tell you what you can feed him and what kind of habitat he needs….although most turtles..or tortoises..will eat fruits and veggies..red leaf lettuce, mustard greens, collard greens, spinach …and other dark colored greens..but never iceberg..iceberg is the round head of lettuce..that one is not good for them..
fruits..bananas, strawberries, any berries really, tomatoes, potatoes, peaches…the list goes on…try all kinds of stuff you will learn what they like….
most tortoises need at least a small amount of meat too soo try adding some worms in the mix…meals, wax, reds…

are they land tortoises or aquatic turtles or box turtles? you really need to state what type they are first before you except any advice here, different turtles need different diets and housing, it would be a shame to take advice and it be wrong as it could kill the turtle, some need water some drown in water so it is important to know what sort first, if they are water turtles go to this site if they are tortoises then this site will help you, hope this helps good luck with the turtles,
