My kids ~love~ their new turtle and want him out a ~lot~ but I’ve been limiting it because I don’t know how much time a turtle should be out of water. They aren’t ‘handling’ him, just watching him walk around the living room. (And yes they DO wash their hands after every time they touch him) Thanks!

Turtles should be fine being in and out of water. When I had one I use to let it out of the tank for the whole day. I would suggest getting a kid oriented book about turtles and there habitat for your kids to read and learn about what all the turtle needs.
