Is it illegal to eat turtles in Michigan?

I know some turtles are protected, but is it illegal to eat the ones that aren’t, like snapping turtles?

    Why would you want to eat a turtle!! there are a lot more food substance in Michigan that is not illegal or protected ,go eat a MacDonald’s!!!. that stuff tastes revolting

    No. Snapping turtles are fair game in Michigan. You do need a license to do that kind of thing, though.

    I think the website below will have the information you need. Look under amphibians and reptiles for species, sizes and season.

    I suggest purchasing a can of turtle soup before killing any.
