They’re Red Sliding Turtles, I think. But they spend most of their time in the water and mainly come out to eat.

It all depends on what kind of turtles they are.

why did you get them if you have no idea how to take care of them! return them!! they are a life time commitment, they live for more than 30 years!! all their supplies cost more than $300………………….heater,filter,basking light, uvb light, basking docks, huge aquarium,crickets,shrimp,pellets,kale……….. they live in as much water as possible, the 55 gallon aquarium must be filled up as much as possible- basking and uvb lights under the floating basking docks…go to google, type in turtle, you will get loads of results

i had new baby turtles. and one year past by and they are still healthy. my first setup cost me about $230. you have to put so much into the setup if you really want to keep the turtles. and you should of done some researching about them too. they need more than just having to feed them.

well, my first setup, you will need a tank. a ten gallon tank is good for now but then later on you have to upgrade it. i rather just get a big tank now than having to buy another one later. the bigger the tank, the bigger. you will also need to provide a filter. a filter is good because turtles can be a bit messy. get a filter that fits with the size of your tank, but it be good if you have a filter that is twice of your tank. i heard that its cleaner that way. you will need a water heater. a water heater helps because it won’t cause them into hibernation. i heard that hibernation in captivity is bad, so a water heater is useful to have. you will need a basking light with a basking dock. you can add river rocks to your tank, but don’t use gravel because a turtle can choke on it. get rocks that are bigger than its head.

you will also need a variety of foods for your turtle. pellets, vegetables, fruits, and live food. it is not common to feed listed. but you should just provide food so they won’t go hungry. romaine lettuce and carrots are among popular vegetables for turtles. live food such as minnows, crickets, and worms are also good for you turtles.

don’t feed so much to your turtles because it will cause pyramiding of the shell and can get sick. feed you turtle as much as the size of their heads. i suggest you feeding your turtles into another container that way your tank can be clean and won’t be changing the water often.

as for safety, whenever you handle your turtle or around the tank, i advise your to wash your hands with soap and water that way you won’t get samonella or get sick.

i hope this helps you. if you would want to know about turtles, you can visit. one of my favorite website. they have a lot of info about everything and anything about turtles. and i recommend this to anyone as well.

..hope this helps. and good luck with your turtles!

At the start, the water should be shallow enough, at least in one place, that they can stand on the bottom and stick their nostrils out of the water. You want no sand or gravel. Large rocks are fine if they are stable; a sliding rock can pin a baby turtle under water. They need a place to get out of the water to bask.

Baby turtles are more carnivorous than adults. Some people add minnows to the tank and let them forage for themselves. Liver is also good, if you cut it into strips that they can handle. Earthworms are great when you can get them. As the turtles get older, you can start introducing green, leafy vegetables to their diet.

i got 5 of them like 2 weeks ago :)

well, first of all, they need alot of love, take them out of the water once i a while and play with them, make sure there moving

have really good food, fruits are good for them an so is iceburg lettus but u have to get them some tutle bites and fish meal. they lov those!

if u dont have a filter or their water, ur gonna need it or change the water daily, or every two days depending on how dirty it is.

make sure ther have a dock and a basking light above them

have alot of water to swim around in and make sure its from 75-80 degrees or they will try to hibernate.

give them a treat by giving them live crickets or mealworms once it a while like every saturday or somthing.

    i hope u find this helpfull!! :)
