My gf is in love with turtles and i would love it if i could find a place where she can pet the turtles. I live in phx az and need to know if there is a place where this is possable and if not then where can we see sea turtles and other kinds of turtles. please help

i’v seen turtles in some pet shops that looked dirty. is it true that turtles can stink up your house?

Im making a pond in my back yard for them, I want a pet duck for the pond to the pond is going to be gated so nothing can get in. but do I havet to worry about my turtles touching the ducks if I get them?

He is 10 yrs. old and he’s been asking for one for a while now. I would like to know from turtle owners out there if you think it’s a good idea and what are the main things we should know about pet turtles that are important to consider. He wants to keep it in a tank in his room. I also don’t know what it really requires to be healthy and if needs to have an aquairium. Any suggestions? Thanks.

i recently bought a small pet turtle (freshwater) and i was wondering if they need to be either in or out of water for a certain amount of time ? like if they dry up, will the get sick or die ? thanks.

Hi,on September 2008 my Friend offered to take my turtles to the Bronx Zoo In new York City (I live in NYC).My Friend told me he would take good care of my 3 pet turtles for a month or two(hes a zookeeper there).I have no time to vist the zoo where my pets are located.How can I make sure my pet turtles are being taken good care of ? I can’t ask my Friend right now hes on vacation so another zookeeper offered to take care of them.I don’t want to sound rude and ask ‘Are you taking good care of my pets ?’ and anyways I barely know people there.

Oh yes I know there are going to be people “Why did you buy your pets if your gonna make somebody else take care of them?”

Well here it goes My pet turtles were getting too big for their tank.So I thought ‘I want to build them a pond’ and I was going to be REALLY busy building their pond.So I couldn’t have my turtles in the home right now since there was going to lots of noise,messy area,and I did not have time to clean their tanks and I didn’t want them to suffer so my friend offered to take my pets to the bronx zoo and that he would take good care of them.So how can I make sure they are being taken good care of.NO MEAN ANSWERS OR YOU GET REPORTED.

Can you name one reason why I shouldn’t have one for a pet? If your answer is that they will become extinct, I’ll tell you that I’ve seen four differnt ones this year, all within a few miles of my house wich isn’t in the country. Arent they better hear with me than out getting ran over and what do they do in the wild that is so special? Why would it, if it is, be morally wrong?
P.S. I actually picked up two the same morning. They may be matable. I haven’t checked the smaller one for *** but believe the larger to be female. They can mate eventually and it’s not illegal to have them in my state. After all…

Was reading a bit of info on alligator snapping turtles earlier and they seemed pretty cool to have as a pet…..

I was wondering if anyone here has ever had any experience with them and whether they think one would make a good house pet…. or maybe a good pet to have living in the backyard pond….

What are your opinions?

I have pet pond turtles but I sometimes take them out of water to sunbathe. I am wondering if I can keep them out of water for days.
