The ‘three turtles’ statue shows three turtles of different sizes stacked upon eachothers backs from largest on bottom to smallest on top. I am very curious as to the origin of this statue and what it might mean with relation to the turtles formation and the angles of their heads (which I don’t think is coincidental). I found many sites with general superstitious information (i.e. brings longevity), and many sites that hightlighted the turtle (i.e. long living creature, earth on top/heaven on bottom). However, there must be a story about this particular formation of turtles…its just too common to be some arbitrary statue that became popular.
I have two baby red eared sliders and they are dirty little **** machines! I want to buy them a new, more powerful water filter. What kind should I get? Also, how many pellets should I be feeding my baby turtles everyday? One is about an inch and a half long and the other is two inches long.
I have 3 red eared slider turtles, approx a year and a half old. They are growing quickly and I wanted to create an outdoor pond environment for them. I live in the panhandle of Florida. How do i set it up? What is required? Do I build a wall around the pond? Will I have to worry about predators, like hawks and racoons? How do I provide a safe environment for my kids’ pets but reclaim my living room from the massive aquarium?
I have three turtles, 2 chineese and one is called yellow turtle (dark green with yellow stripes) They live in the same tank but i would like to know if their gender has something to do with the number of spots they’ve got under their shell. Thanks! I’m desperate because I have them all male names!!
I have a small 1 1/2 acre lake on my property that we created a few years back and we stocked it with decorative fish…. the problem is this, we’ve seen and caught 1 snapping turtle and they are eating our fish plus we are scared to let our dogs swim in the lake now because of seeing the turtles. How do you successfully get rid of the turtles?
AND……how do you prevent the plant from floating around the tank. I bought a plant and covered the root basket with rocks but my turtles like to dig so they dug it up and now it floats all over the tank and does not stay upright. Help!
The turtles set up is VERY GOOD. I have them in a 60 gal tank…..
Yes, I’m looking for edible plants and I do feed them Amazon Sword. I really want to know how to keep the plant in one spot.
I was wondering how often I should change my turtles water in the tank since I don’t have a pump and filter in it as of yet? I’m planing on getting them this week tho, I have an 80 gallon tank that houses one mississippi map turtle right now I’m also planing to buy one more water turtle this week as well.
Thank you for your help in this matter of mine.
