ladydane9 asked:

This past spring we were given a female box turtle by a friend, they got her at a yard sale, so no one knows how long she has been in captivity or if she was ever wild. We also have a male box turtle. We have had him for over 5 yrs. He was rescued off an inerstate and thought to be dead with a cracked shell. he healed and is a classroom pet. He leaves for the summer to go to a summer program to teach kids about turtles in the wild. After he left, the female started laying eggs. I am having trouble finging out much abot turtle eggs. Wil these be ferlte after the male is gone. How many eggs will she lay. Will she lay unfertle eggs? Should I incubatethe eggs? At what temperature should they be ekpt? We have provided her with a bowl of dirt in her cage and keep it moist. That’s where the eggs are now. Any info. will be greatly appreciated. thank you.

Palahniuk asked:

I received two turtles as a b-day gift: a black one with yellow belly, and a green one with black dots on the back. They gave them to me in a fish tank, food (little kind-of shrimps) and anti-chlorine; but they never said how often do I have to feed them, if I have to grind the little shrimps before I feed them, how often do I have to change the water, etc. Any tips?

地獄少年 asked:

My mom wants a fish tank with some animals, like snails, fish, and a turtle.

I know you can put snails and fish in the same tank, but what about turtles? Would a turtle need a seperate tank?
I don’t mind the turtles eating fish, I was just wondering if they could be kept together is all.
We don’t plan on keeping tropical fish with the turtle. Just regular fish you’d find at petsmart you know?
Also, if they turtle was to eat the snail would that hurt the turtle?

How big do turtles get in general?

Sadistic Psychosis asked:

I have two rather small turtles (one is a little more than 1 1/2 inches and the other is about 1 1/2) I don’t know their species but I’m just wondering if there is a general length and width. Will they get bigger than that or will they stay small? I mean they are adorable and all but they are also cool when they get big.
I can’t exactly email any new question caue my browser is being a pain in the ****. But i’ll say that these turtle kind of look like box turtle except they have a point on their shell where it looks like it’s been pinched up. it’s a normal shell except there a small pinch in the middle of the shell. they were bought in South Carolina too if that helps to identify it’s species
